Let Us Bring Your Style to Life

About Me

My name is Sammie and let me tell you a little about how I ended up here making jewelry that I absolutely love to make.  I started out loving to draw and paint as a child.  After being married and raising two children (and still raising my third) I began to take an interest in painting again so I took the one stroke class and also began wood burning.

One year I was at a craft show in Gatlinburg and I saw this beautiful handmade jewelry.  Well when I got home I began gathering beads and crystals for beading.  It seemed like the more I did the more I loved it and it became an addiction.  I then started making things with wire and that became even more addictive.  I found that I could manipulate the wire into just about any shape and even accent this shape with beads or crystals.  I loved this type of art so much that I began taking classes.  I would search the internet for tutorials and was amazed at all of the different techniques I could use with wire.  I learned the techniques so that I could then make designs of my own using the techniques that I had learned.

Last year (2007), I took the plunge and attended a workshop at Wildacres in NC.  This was the most awesome workshop and I learned techniques that would have taken me forever to learn on my own.  I am planning on attending William Holland this spring/summer and am so excited.  It has taken me two years of prep to get to this point.  I am making jewelry that people love to wear and that could be passed on through generations.  Jewelry that is an art and unique in and of itself.  Jewelry that cannot be purchased just anywhere and everywhere.  I love making pieces that are specific to a persons own style.

I am in the process of learning silversmithing so keep an eye out for some of those pieces.  I usually post pieces in my blog before putting them on the website.  You may also learn more about me by visiting my blog which consist of various subject that do not always relate to jewelry but just everyday life.  http://sammieorr.multiply.com/

PS...Also mom to 10 dogs and 3 cats.
